Food preserving at the Old Midland Courthouse

November 8, 2023 @ 5:15 pm - 6:30 pm

Free

Do you want to unlock the secrets behind delicious homemade preserves and chutneys? Well, then this workshop is for you!

Join Martina from Dandelion Permaculture to learn the ins and outs of food preserving at home.

During this workshop you will look at different options of preserving fresh fruit and vegetables, ranging from dehydrating and fermenting, to making cordials and chutneys. You will also learn about the important food safety and sustainability aspects of preserving food at home. Participants will have the chance to try some home preserved foods and go home with recipes to give it a go themselves.

This workshop is part of the Thinking Green series hosted by the City of Swan. Thinking Green is a series of free programs hosted across the City’s libraries and community venues. Click here to find out more and see the full list of workshops and talks.
