Perth’s Bushfood Plants – City of Canning
This workshop will introduce you to the bushfood plants that grow in the Perth region and their seasonal occurrence. , Humans have managed seasonal food resources in this part of the world for a very long time. and an understanding of their seasonality and management history adds further interest. This workshop will deliver a snapshot of the native food resources of Perth, focusing on those that can be grown in private gardens.
Your presenter is Steven McCabe, who has degrees in Biology/Geography and Terrestrial Ecology (Hons.). He has decades of experience managing bushland for local governments, has worked in specialist nurseries, and as a Dieback Interpreter. For ten years, he travelled WA with Beyond Gardens, a team of garden sustainability advisors. Steve is the Program Manager for Perth NRM’s “ReWild Perth”.
