Second-hand Success

What will be your New Year’s resolution for 2025? Whether it’s learning a skill, being more thrifty, helping the environment, or getting a new look, Library Services has got you covered! Join us for our free “Jump-start January” workshop series at the Libraries.
Join waste and sustainability educator Laura Monisse for an engaging session on shopping, buying, and selling second-hand. Participants will explore:
- Second-hand marketplaces, including popular platforms like Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Gumtree, Depop, and more
- Buying everyday items second-hand
- Expert tips on finding quality items
- Turning clutter into cash by selling second-hand
- Safety measures for protecting yourself, both online and in person when buying or selling
In this interactive session, attendees will have the opportunity to share their experiences, learn from fellow participants, and develop a deeper understanding on the challenges, opportunities, and solutions that come with sustainable thrifting.
“Second-hand Success” is presented by sustainability educator Laura Monisse. Laura has a background in population health, integrated design, waste management, and adult education.
This workshop is hosted by the City of Gosnells, in partnership with Switch Your Thinking.
