Welcome to our Sew and Tell event series, where sewing skills and cultural stories come together to inspire creativity and connection.

Stitching isn’t just a handy mending skill or a craft hobby—it can also be a mindful, meditative practice that encourages us to slow down in an increasingly busy world.

Join us in the CoGLAB at Amherst Village Library on Friday 20 March for Slow Stitch Boro Bookmarks with Monique Mulligan.

In this two‑hour workshop, you’ll learn the basics of Boro stitching, a traditional Japanese mending technique originally used to repair and reinforce well‑worn textiles. Using these sustainable and creative methods, you’ll craft a beautiful patchwork bookmark to take home.

This workshop is adults only, and bookings are essential. Registrations open to the public on 6 March, with only 10 places available—so get in early to secure your spot.
