The Great Global Mend – Multiple Events Across Perth

Be part of something big! Western Metropolitan Regional Council (WMRC) and Studio Thimbles are bringing Perth together for a fun, hands-on sewing workshop and an attempt to set a record for the most people mending at the same time. ✂️ There are 16 Perth councils participating in the event with loads of action set for Saturday 11 October.

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned sewer, this event is all about keeping textiles in use, learning simple repair techniques, and celebrating the power of community action. Bring along an item of clothing that is in need of some TLC whether it is missing a button, a loose hem, or a small tear, and you’ll get guidance, sewing supplies, and plenty of encouragement. There are also plenty of clothes swap events were you can give your clothes a second life and find a new item for your wardrobe!
