WA Tree Festival – Community Activities

The WA Tree Festival 2024 is a community celebration of trees in our urban areas and beyond, running from 6 April – 5 May 2024.

Trees are crucial for our health and wellbeing, they provide a range of benefits, including:

• Cooling our homes, streets, and environment (canopy cover can cool areas by up to five degrees, and reduce cooling costs in the home)
• Providing shade and habitat for wildlife
• Cleaning the air and improving mental and physical health
• Reducing heat-related illnesses and death during heat waves
• Increasing amenity and economic value of our homes, streets, and reserves (homes on tree-lined streets are worth an average of $16,000 more than homes on streets without trees).
