CLAW Environmental Community Tour – City of Canning Residents Only
March 15 @ 2:30 am - 4:00 pm
Free
Join the City of Canning on March 15th for a community tour of CLAW Environmental in Welshpool and find out how different plastics are processed, pelletised, and manufactured into new recycled plastic products.
If you ever dropped off polystyrene at the City of Canning’s Waste Transfer Station or plastic lids at the Hillview Intercultural Community Centre’s Recycling Hub, you will be interested to discover where these materials go and how they are processed for recycling.
You will see for yourself how a plastic recycling facility works and the different types of plastics that can and cannot be recycled.
Please ensure you wear fully enclosed shoes. It is also recommended you wear darker coloured clothes as it can get a little dusty and dirty on site. Single-use ear plugs will be provided on the tour. You can also bring your own industrial ear plugs if you have some and would like to reduce your waste. Parking is available at the front of the site. The tour involves walking around an active site outdoors. A reasonable level of fitness is required. Please bring your own water bottle.
Bookings are essential as places are limited to 15 people. This event is reserved for City of Canning’s residents.
