Reversible reinforced bags – Sew Sustainable Saturdays
February 18 @ 9:00 am - 11:45 am
Free
——SEW much textile waste in our society!
——SEW expensive to buy new!
——SEW much better to reuse and recycle!
——SEW why not learn a new skill and upcycle for free?
The Serpentine Jarrahdale Shire Library (providing sewing machines and overlocker) and Waste Education Officer Polly will be hosting FREE beginners sewing lessons (BYO used fabric to repurpose). SEW SUSTAINABLE!!
February’s session will be making a reinforced, reversible large bag – durable and washable perfect for shopping bags, but could also be customised to a maternity bag if pockets added. BYO quilt cover, though there will be some available from Reuse Shop to mix and match inside and outside or make a set if you wish for a gold coin donation. This session is best for intermediate users or those who have been to a previous session as it can take a fair bit of time for beginners.
