Traditional Uses of South West WA Plants with SERCUL

April 24 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Free

Join us for an informative presentation, as we celebrate the natural world in our series of “Earth Day” events.

Facilitated by staff from the South-East Regional Centre for Urban Landcare (SERCUL), attendees will get hands-on with a range of local native plants from Western Australia’s south-west region. Participants will learn about their growth, features, and traditional uses as medicine, tools, and food for the Noongar people. You will also learn about the six Noongar seasons, and how the traditional landowners have used these various plants at different times of year for at least 45,000 years.

All attendees will receive a free brochure on Bush Tucker, containing information about the plants discussed during the session. If you wish to plant native species in your own garden, SERCUL can provide advice, as well as encouraging information on how doing so will greatly benefit your local environment.

Bookings are essential.
