Thinking Green: growing fruit trees in small spaces

April 24 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Free

Want to grow a fruit tree or two but don’t have a huge amount of space?

Please note that this program is suitable for adults and young people aged 12 and over, and is a presentation without hands-on activities. Photographs and videos may be taken of the event. Please book one ticket for each person attending.

Join Lindsay Miles from Treading My Own Path to learn about choosing appropriate trees (also considering uses other than fruit such as shade), deciduous vs evergreen, grafted versus non grafted, pollination types, preparing the soil and feeding, suitable trees for containers, simple pruning, and basic pest management.

This workshops is suitable for those with varying smaller sized properties, from patios to small backyards, however the principles will still apply for larger blocks.

Thinking Green is a series of free programs hosted across the City’s libraries and community venues! To find out more and see the full list of workshops and talks, visit the City of Swan Libraries website.
