🌟 FREE COMMUNITY EVENT 🌟
Participants will learn about the visible mending approach as it celebrates the mending process rather than hiding repairs or imperfections.
During the workshop, you will learn about a few basic “tools of the trade” and practical techniques such as patching, darning, and embroidery to creatively mend holes, tears, and stains.
Its OK if you don’t know how to sew! This workshop is designed with beginners in mind, who are eager to give it a try, but it’s also a great way for the average sewist to brush up on hand-sewing skills and practice.
Elise will focus on getting you comfortable with two basic hand sewing stitches: the running stitch & the whipstitch. No need to bring a thing. We will just practice on thrifted/gifted fabrics for this one.

Hoop Hoop Hooray was started by Elise as a hobby business over 7 years ago because of her love of embroidery and her *want* to share her passion with others.
Due to the resurgence in mending as a response to the growing sustainability movement, she has been involved in facilitating Visible Mending workshops across Perth. Her aim is to normalise mending and build a community to inspire others, to save textiles going into landfill!
