Kintsugi workshop
June 25 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeIn this workshop hosted by the City of Melville, participants will learn about Kintsugi. This is the Japanese art of putting broken ceramics back together with gold — built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art. Every break is unique and instead of repairing an item like new, the 400-year-old technique actually highlights the “scars” as a part of the design.
While Registration to the workshop is FREE the following requirements must be met.
- Each attendee is required to purchase a gold repair kit for $75.00 no later than Friday May 12th following this link. The kit will be provided for you at the event. After the workshop, the gold repair kit is yours to keep to do more Kintsugi at home in the future! Enter the code FREESHIPPING at checkout.
- Workshop participants must be 18 + years old to attend due to the use of strong glues.
